LEMIO also may pursue civil litigation to address persistent misconduct, with the goal of achieving structural reforms to prevent civil rights violations.

The DBC is a critical part of LEMIO’s leadership team. The DBC works with the Bureau Chief to develop the bureau’s enforcement and policy strategies and supervise more than twenty attorneys and supporting staff who are located in New York City, Albany and Buffalo. The DBC will also work with the Bureau Chief and other LEMIO personnel to build relationships with covered agencies, community stakeholders, and experts.
