Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, IL is seeking a part-time Department Support Assistant - Postpartum. The role involves front desk coverage, greeting patients and families, and assisting with department operations.

Hours include 1500-2330 and 2300-0730 with weekend/holiday rotation, for a 24-hour per week schedule. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of medical terminology, strong customer service, and familiarity with hospital environments.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related systems.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Experience with Epic preferred.
• Minimum 1 year hospital experience preferred.

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Department Support Assistant - Postpartum
• Location: Evanston, IL
• Part time: 24 hours/week
• Hours: 1500-2330 and 2300-0730 with weekend and holiday rotation

What you will do:

• Provides front desk coverage which includes answering and directing incoming calls
• Greeting patients and family members and provide assistance as needed
• Collecting and distributing department mail
• Performes related general duties such as monitoring and ordering supplies, submitting work orders, collating and assembling documents,

What you will need:

• Proficiency with Microsoft applications and other department related systems
• Highest level of customer service skills
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred
• Epic experience preferred
• Minimum of one year hospital experience preferred
• High School Degree required
• BLS (from American Heart Acess) required
