The Data Analytics Unit (DAU) manages and advances data technology and supports incarcerated individual data through the enhancement of MA DOC data warehouse (DOCWARE) to centralize data and support division Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with queries and analytics projects. The DAU is instrumental in creating agency-wide data governance, standardizing processes, maintaining data documentation, and managing the Tableau dashboard reporting system for analytical insights for the MA DOC. DAU’s mission is to build one trusted source of data and one source of truth for the agency. The intern will assist the DAU with projects, dashboards, data entry and documentation, and have the opportunity to learn software including TOAD for Data Point (SQL), Tableau Dashboard Technology and other analytic tools. They will gain exposure to the MA DOC working with many topics central to MA DOC and by attending training and meetings with the Department SMEs and DAU staff as projects evolve.
