Job summary

The Iowa Department of Corrections, Research Department, is seeking a Data Analyst 1 to join the team in Des Moines. You will support data analytics, the offender management system (OMS), and data literacy efforts across the agency under the direction of the Research Director.

You will help transform raw correctional data into actionable insights, enabling leadership to understand population trends, program effectiveness, and operational visibility.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time work experience in business/data/statistical analytics, economic research, or data science.
• A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in business analytics, economics, data science, statistics, mathematics, MIS, or industrial management equals one year of full-time experience.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business analytics, economics, data science, statistics, mathematics, MIS, or industrial management.
• All of the following (a and b): a. A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience; and b. Possession of a professional certificate in data science, business analytics, or data analytics.
