Position Summary: The Department Chair, Nursing, is a full-time faculty member (rank based on experience) and serves as the academic leader for all Nursing programs. Reporting to the Assistant/Associate Dean of the College of Nursing and Public Health, the Chair collaborates with campus personnel and university leadership to ensure effective program delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruit, evaluate, and recommend faculty candidates
• Ensure faculty credentials meet university and accreditation standards
• Conduct evaluations and reviews of faculty and Program Directors
• Serve as liaison between faculty/Program Directors and administration
• Supervise curriculum development and revisions
• Advise students and support student success initiatives
• Implement departmental syllabi and curriculum changes
• Assist with curricular and policy development
• Oversee new program and resource implementation
• Participate in textbook selection and maintain master booklist
• Ensure advisory committees meet regularly
• Fulfill instructional, service, and scholarship duties
• Advise leadership on academic and accreditation matters
• Engage in professional development and departmental leadership
• Participate in university committees and adhere to policies
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Manage workload and prepare program meeting agendas
• Oversee data reporting and support at-risk students

Position Requirements:

• PhD or DNP in the discipline
• At least 2 years of higher education experience
• Minimum 5 years in pre-licensure BSN programs and/or RN to BSN online programs
• 3-5 years of management or leadership experience
• Experience with administrative systems
• Ability to interpret accreditation and regulatory criteria
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel up to 20%
