Job summary

Amentum is seeking a US Deorbit Vehicle GN&C Simulation Engineer to support NASA’s USDV team. You will develop and validate GN&C simulations, model data, and support verification activities for ISS visiting vehicle guidance systems.

The role requires strong coding skills (C/C++, Python), Linux experience, and familiarity with GN&C concepts. You will collaborate with a multi-company team and interact with NASA stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in GN&C or simulation.
• Experience with Linux, C/C++, FORTRAN, and Python.
• Experience with version control systems.
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics and GN&C principles.
• Ability to develop, verify, and validate math models and simulations.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a multi-company team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide math modeling, simulation development, integration, and testing of USDV GN&C systems.
• Perform and document simulation verification and validation (V&V).
• Create and deliver math model and simulation documentation.
• Identify tasks, resolve simulation issues, and assist team members.
• Interact with NASA customers and contractors during technical meetings.
