Job summary

Chess Wizards is seeking enthusiastic Assistant Instructors to support after-school chess classes for elementary students in Denver, CO. You will help set up fun sessions, assist the lead instructor, and travel between local schools.

This role offers flexible weekday afternoon hours (2:00–5:00 PM), potential for 1–5 classes per week, and mileage reimbursement for travel. Training, curriculum, and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in working with groups of elementary students.
• Strong punctuality and time-management skills.
• Ability to explain chess fundamentals in an age-appropriate way.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and managing a chess class for 15–22 students.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students practicing moves.
• Support activities and reinforce positive behavior in class.
• Follow the curriculum and promote good sportsmanship.
• Travel to various local school sites for sessions.
