Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Certified Dental Assistant to support Dentists and Surgeons during plastic and oral surgery examinations and procedures. You will prepare patients, instruments, and materials, obtain vital signs, radiographs, and dental impressions, and assist during examinations.

Under supervision you will maintain a sterile operatory, provide post-operative instructions to patients/parents, file records, and help with scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Basic CPR Certification.
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) by the DANB, or eligible within 30 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greets and directs patients, and escorts to the service area.
• Prepares room and instruments for procedures; ensures supplies are ready.
• Takes and files diagnostic radiographs and dental impressions.
• Assists clinician during procedures and monitors vitals.
• Provides post-operative instructions to patients/parents and maintains sterilization.
