Job summary

University of the Pacific is hiring a Sterilization/Dispensing Technician to support infection control in the dental clinic. You will sterilize instruments, wrap and package items, and ensure proper dispensing of cassettes and materials.

The role requires experience in a dental/medical setting, a high school diploma or equivalent, and sterilization certification within 12 months. Attention to detail and strong teamwork are essential in this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in a dental/medical setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Central Sterilization required or obtain within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Process dental instruments and equipment: receive, clean, wrap, and sterilize, including inspection for completeness.
• Operate and maintain washing and sterilization machines, including weekly autoclave testing.
• Prepare pre-packaged disposable items; dispense instrument cassettes and dental materials according to procedures.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of borrowed/returned cassettes, materials, and equipment; secure inventories.
• Order supplies for dispensing windows; restock inventory as needed.
• Keep sterilization and dispensing areas neat and orderly according to standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the PHCC Assistant Dental Director and the Director.
