Job summary

Gracelight Community Health in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Dental Program Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of the dental department and supervise staff. You will manage scheduling, ensure full utilization of operatories, and drive visit volume and department revenue, working with Marketing and site leadership to grow services.

You will oversee recall and follow-up, optimize workflows, ensure accurate charge capture, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards across sites.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in healthcare related discipline; 5+ years of experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in dental practice management with FQHCs, dental school or other healthcare facilities.
• Prior experience with Patient Centered Medical Home model of care delivery preferred.
• At least 2 years of proven experience managing teams.
• EPIC Electronic Health Records experience or comparable preferred.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, insurance processes (PPO, HMO, Medicaid if applicable), and practice management software.
• Experience facilitating optimal clinical workflow processes, revenue cycle management and medical billing and coding.
• Working knowledge of spoken Spanish preferred.
• Ability to effectively assist and manage administrative and compliance tasks related to dental.

Responsibilities

• Supervises dental staff and manages scheduling, timekeeping, evaluations, coaching and corrective action with HR.
• Manages dental schedule template and daily utilization across operatories and sites.
• Accountable for department productivity and revenue; reports results to leadership.
• Promotes dental services to patients and community; drives internal referrals.
• Oversees patient recall, treatment follow-up, and reactivation to sustain visit volume.
• Optimizes workflow, patient flow, operatory turnover, and staff ratios.
• Ensures accurate charge capture, coding, and documentation; monitors denials and root causes.
• Manages supplies, instruments, equipment, inventory, and vendor relations.
• Maintains compliance with Dental Board of California, infection control, OSHA, and HRSA; tracks licensure.
