Position Summary

The purpose of a dental office manager is to assist all staff in becoming more efficient, productive, and competent, helping create a profitable practice that delivers excellent service to patients. This position guides the dental team to achieve productivity, financial, and patient satisfaction goals. Responsibilities include managing revenues, front office procedures, marketing, team development, and patient relations. It requires organization, positive interactions, excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, and a willingness to handle various responsibilities in the dental office.

Duties and Responsibilities

The dental office manager will oversee duties and supervise staff including patient coordinators, dental assistants, hygienists, sterilization techs, treatment coordinators, and others. The manager partners with onsite dentists to ensure:

  • Efficient and compliant office operations
  • Support for community marketing events
  • Personnel management including hiring, coaching, and development
  • Generation of reports and management of expenses and invoices
  • Support on treatment planning, billing, and insurance
  • Knowledge of practice operations from patient care to business management
  • Inventory management of supplies and equipment
  • Responding to concerns from doctors, patients, and staff
Requirements

General office duties and other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of management experience, preferably in a dental or medical setting
  • Preferred 3-5 years of front office dental experience
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Emotional intelligence and maturity to handle demanding situations
  • Respectful and pleasant manner with patients and staff
  • Patience, understanding, and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new programs
  • Strong communication skills, including public speaking
  • Good judgment and independent thinking
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Attention to detail and flexibility in work assignments
