Position Summary

The purpose of a dental office manager is to assist all staff in becoming more efficient, productive, and competent, helping create a profitable practice that delivers excellent service to patients. This role involves guiding the dental team to achieve productivity, financial, and patient satisfaction goals through management of revenues, front office procedures, marketing, team development, and patient relations. It requires organization, positive interactions, excellent interpersonal skills, and a willingness to handle various responsibilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The dental office manager will oversee duties and supervise staff including patient coordinators, dental assistants, hygienists, sterilization techs, and others. Responsibilities include partnering with onsite dentists to:

  • Ensure efficient and compliant operations
  • Support community marketing events
  • Manage personnel including hiring, coaching, and development
  • Generate reports and manage expenses and invoices
  • Support treatment planning, billing, and insurance processes
  • Maintain knowledge of practice operations to make strategic decisions
  • Ensure inventory of supplies
  • Address concerns from doctors, patients, and staff
  • Perform general office duties as needed
Requirements
Essential Requirements & Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of management experience, preferably in dental or medical settings
  • 3-5 years of front office dental experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Emotional maturity and ability to handle demanding situations
  • Respectful and pleasant demeanor
  • Patience, understanding, and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software
  • Public speaking skills
