Job summary

MicroDental Laboratories is seeking a Dental Lab Manager for its Hermanson Lemke facility in Maplewood, MN. The role leads laboratory operations, drives quality, and oversees customer service and budgeting to support growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, or equivalent work experience. CDT or equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years in a leadership experience at the senior management level in a large dental laboratory/industry.
• Direct experience defining, deploying, and continuously improving operations and management processes.
• Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
• Operations Management: 5 years (Preferred)
• Senior Management level: 5 years (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Ensure laboratory maintains and manages proficiency and quality control standards.
• Provide individualized customer service and interact with customers to resolve issues and monitor retention.
• Measure and communicate operational performance (cost, quality, time, customer issues) using metrics.
• Hire, train, engage, empower, develop, and mentor staff.
• Establish a professional employee evaluation system with goal setting and feedback.
• Maintain staff communication through production huddles and team meetings.
• Set performance goals with senior leadership.
• Develop and manage a standard approach to lab management to support growth.
• Manage departmental budget/P&L with CEO/CFO.
• Assist in planning sales and marketing strategy with corporate teams.
• Drive productivity improvements across operations.
• Collaborate with R&D, HR, Accounting, IT to refine processes.
• Contribute to bids and strategic partnerships; assist with materials and labor budgets.
• Assist with product analysis and pricing development.
• Attend tradeshows and events as required.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed and reduce waste; control costs.
• Other duties as assigned.
