Job summary

Atlanta Dental Spa is seeking an experienced Dental Laboratory Manager/Technician to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of a modern, digitally driven in‑house lab serving our five locations in the Atlanta area.

This hands-on leadership role blends strong dental lab knowledge with organization, problem‑solving, and excellent communication to keep cases moving efficiently in a small, growing facility.

Qualifications

• Experience in dental laboratory operations, management, or senior-level laboratory production.
• Strong understanding of lab workflow and case processing.
• Experience with a broad range of restorations and appliances including hybrids, implants, crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, nightguards, retainers, and aligners.
• Working knowledge of dental materials such as zirconia, lithium disilicate/e.max, PMMA, acrylics, and composites.
• Experience with digital workflows including intraoral scans, CAD/CAM, 4- and 5-axis milling, 3D printing, and digital case submission.
• Familiarity with platforms like 3Shape, exocad, iTero, MillBox, HyperDENT, or similar systems.
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily laboratory operations, production schedules, case flow, priorities, and deadlines.
• Triage incoming cases and coordinate multiple projects and communication channels simultaneously.
• Lead, train, mentor, and coordinate laboratory technicians and support staff.
• Establish and maintain efficient, standardized laboratory workflows.
• Review prescriptions, scans, clinical specifications, and laboratory instructions for accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate directly with dentists regarding case design, materials, aesthetics, preparation requirements, limitations, and potential complications.
• Coordinate with external design teams, vendors, and other laboratory partners.
• Maintain high quality standards, including fit, margins, contacts, occlusion, shade, function, and overall restoration quality.
• Troubleshoot scanning, milling, printing, software, equipment, and production issues.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical workflow improvements.
• Manage supplies, inventory, purchasing, and procurement, and identify opportunities to control costs.
• Assist with shipping, deliveries, supply runs, and other operational needs when necessary.
