Job summary

SEARHC in Juneau, AK is hiring a Central Sterilization Technician to decontaminate, clean, package and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with SEARHC policies and AMMI guidelines. You will maintain records and ensure sterilization parameters are met while collaborating with dental providers to resolve instrument shortages.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and BLS within 3 months, plus 1–2 years of relevant clinic experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
• Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years.
• 1–2 years of dental or medical clinic experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Infection Control.
• Strong oral & written communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Performs and validates cleaning of dental instruments per SEARHC policies and AMMI guidelines.
• Handles decontamination, packaging, and sterilization of dental instruments.
• Disinfects equipment that cannot be sterilized.
• Disassembles instruments to remove debris before sterilization.
• Maintains records for all sterilization procedures and quality assurance checks.
• Communicates with dental staff to address instrument shortages and substitutions.
