We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team in a modern office located in Simsbury, CT. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and assisting the dentist in various procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history and oral health evaluations.
• Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing of teeth to remove plaque and tartar.
• Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
• Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Ensure infection control protocols are followed, utilizing aseptic techniques throughout all procedures.
• Utilize Dentrix software for patient management and record keeping.
• Collaborate with dental assistants to ensure a smooth workflow within the clinic.

60 minutes recall patients, 90 minutes for new patients. Single column schedule, no double bookings. Private office, NON-DSO.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a clinical setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
• Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
• Proficiency in four-handed dentistry practices is highly desirable.
• Strong patient assessment skills with attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• Experience with Dentrix or similar dental management software is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48.00 - $52.00 per hour

Office hours: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8-5pm. Thursdays 7-3pm. Fridays and weekends closed.
