Job description

Responsibilities

The Dental Hygienist performs professional dental care the field of dental hygiene including all related clinical procedures. This is a Part-time position.

• Prepares treatment materials/trays according to the needs of individual participants.
• Screens and evaluates patients regarding cavity detection, periodontal pathology and medical history.
• Performs exposing, processing and mounting of radiographs.
• Administers local anesthetics and gross debridement in treatment of acute periodontal conditions.
• Performs supra and sub gingival scaling and curettage, root planning and oral prophylaxis.
• Administers topical fluorides.
• Provides instruction for proper home care prevention techniques for oral hygiene including proper tooth brushing, flossing and nutrition.
• Documents procedures performed.
• Assists in the training of dental assistants.
• Cleans treatment room(s) after each participant visit by discarding all disposable items, gathering soiled instruments, and placing them in the sterilization area.
• Checks treatment rooms for cleanliness and corrects as necessary

REQUIRED

• Current state issued Dental Hygienist license
• 1+ yr as Dental Hygienist
• High School Diploma or GED
