Dental Hygienist

Broughton Hospital is currently accepting applications for a Dental Hygienist to assist the dental department at Broughton Hospital.

The primary purpose of this position is to promote dental health by completing dental prophylaxis for patients who have been diagnosed with a mental illness and/or co-occurring substance abuse diagnosis. This position will also work alongside a dental hygienist student during their clinical rotation.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Oral cancer screening & radiographic studies
• Charting conditions of decay and oral disease
• Providing oral care instructions and patient education
• Performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act
• Assisting with appointment scheduling, answering office phones, and general office duties

The normal work schedule isMonday to Thursday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break. However, flexibility is required for educational purposes and to meet hospital needs
