Description of Work

This Dental Hygienist position is located at Craven Correctional Institution in Vanceboro, NC, a Diagnostic Processing Center housing approximately 850 medium custody male offenders. The Dental Hygienist reports to the Dentist at Craven Correctional and is responsible for performing duties under the supervision of a licensed dentist, including:

1. Examining patients' teeth and making referrals to the dentist.
2. Applying topical fluorides and performing dental prophylaxis to prevent dental diseases.
3. Recording findings and maintaining dental records.
4. Instructing patients on proper dental care.
5. Recommending measures for the prevention of dental diseases.

Assists the dentist in planning and implementing dental health programs.

Position Details

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with State Benefits. Applicants must pass a background check to be eligible.

Qualifications
