Job summary

Megibow Family Dental LLC is seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our Connecticut office. The ideal candidate will perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures and educate patients, while maintaining meticulous documentation and sterile practices.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree in dental hygiene, a valid Connecticut RDH license, and the ability to work the listed hours. Dentrix Ascend software experience is a plus and a team-oriented attitude is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dental hygiene services including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, fluoride and sealants.
  • Detect disease through oral cancer screening; examine gums and assess recession.
  • Select materials and equipment for hygiene visits based on patient oral health.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative care.
  • Document hygiene procedures by recording vital signs and histories in patient charts.
  • Sterilize equipment.
  • Take x-rays as recommended by the ADA.

Currently, we are looking for a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our family. Candidate should have a strong work‑ethic and be a team player. Recent graduates are welcomed!

Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, application of fluoride and sealants
  • Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession
  • Selection of materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient’s oral health
  • Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions
  • Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient charts
  • Sterilization of equipment
  • Take x-rays as necessary and as recommended by the ADA
