Lanier Technical College – Hall County campus in Gainesville, GA is seeking a full-time, salaried Dental Hygiene Program Director/Instructor. The role reports to the Dean of Allied Health and leads the Dental Hygiene program while also teaching courses and mentoring students.

The ideal candidate holds a CODA-accredited credential and a Master’s degree or higher, with professional clinical experience in dental hygiene or dentistry.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher from an institutionally accredited college or university.
• Graduate of a CODA-accredited dental hygiene or dental education program, as applicable.
• Must be a dental hygienist or dentist.
• Documented background in education, including teaching experience.
• Professional clinical experience in dental hygiene or dentistry sufficient to understand and fulfill the goals of the Dental Hygiene program.
• Demonstrated administrative experience in an educational or clinical setting.

Responsabilités

• This position serves as Program Director and Instructor.
• It provides leadership and instruction for the Dental Hygiene Program.
• As Program Director, is responsible for providing leadership in discipline to help ensure the quality and success of the department.
• Works with faculty to promote continuous improvement in the quality of instruction within the Dental Hygiene program.
• Will coordinate, collect and submit input from program faculty on: Course offering rotations and scheduling recommendations for submission to Dean of Allied Health Instructional program planning and curriculum review, to include probe response reporting
• Dental Hygiene program budgetary requests
• Program advisory committee meetings and documentation
• Accreditation and compliance documentation and administrative reports as requested
• Hiring, on-boarding and orientation of faculty for the Dental Hygiene program
• Textbook and instructional material selection
• Student Learning Outcome documentation of assessment, data, and use of results
• Program marketing and recruitments efforts
• As Instructor, duties include:
• Develop program and course outlines, goals and objectives
• Prepare lesson plans
• Evaluate student progress
• Maintain program certification requirements as appropriate
• Advise and mentor students
• Assist with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
• Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
• Teaches Dental Hygiene courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry, while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field
• Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of Dental Hygiene, and evaluates learning outcomes for continuous student and program success
• Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor
