Job summary

Dental-Depot is seeking an Assistant Hygienist to support the hygienist, prepare patients, sterilize instruments, and help manage patient records. You will also take dental histories and vital signs, expose X-rays, and assist with fluoride applications and sealants as prescribed by the Dentist.

The role requires a Dental Assisting program or equivalent experience, proper certifications, and the ability to relocate to other clinics as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Dental Assisting program or minimum three months experience in a dental office.
• Dental Assistant permit within 30 days of employment required.
• Coronal Polish Certificate within six months and Radiation Certificate within six months required.
• Computer skills with Dental Software (Eaglesoft preferred) and Microsoft Office knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist Hygienist and prepare patient for hygiene treatment and record information.
• Sterilize or disinfect instruments and prepare trays and materials.
• Record treatment information in patient records and expose dental X-rays.
• Care for x-ray sensors and follow safety guidelines.
• Polish coronal surfaces to aid hygiene visits and assist with emergencies.
• Take medical and dental histories and vital signs.
• Schedule and reschedule hygiene appointments to maintain full schedule.
• Apply fluoride coatings and sealants as prescribed by the Dentist.
