Job summary

North American Dental Group partners with Whittaker Family Dental in Defiance, OH to recruit a Hygiene Assistant. The role provides clinical support, prepares patients for treatment, and assists the hygienist and dentist to maintain high standards of care.

You will collaborate with a caring team, educate patients on oral health, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while upholding excellent service and documentation.

Qualifications

• Certification in Dental Assisting is required or on-the-job training accepted.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
• State-specific Radiography/X-Ray certification.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the dental hygienist to prepare the room, seat patients, and take proper documentation of the patients visit
• Record and review patients' health history, make chart entries under the direction of the Doctor or hygienist, and obtain necessary signatures
• Educate patients on their treatment plans and maintain their oral health
• Work in a fast-paced environment with strong interpersonal skills and positive relationships with the team and patients
• Communicate professionally both orally and in writing with a service-oriented approach
