Job summary

Gentle Dental of New Baltimore is seeking a Dental Hygiene Assistant in New Baltimore, MI to join our clinical team. You will support the office and assist the professional dental staff with treatment, contributing to preventive care and patient comfort in a warm, team-based environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or certification in Dental Assisting preferred but not required.
• Radiology certification, if applicable.
• CPR certification preferred or can be obtained after hiring.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization
• Assist Dental Hygienists during patient treatment progress
• Update patient health history and chart treatment progress
• Expose and develop radiographs (if certified)
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care
• Coordinate with clinical staff to manage inventory and sterilization of dental instruments
• Support the hygienist with patient scheduling and treatment recommendations and office recall systems
• Perform routine tasks while ensuring compliance with HIPAA & OSHA
