Job summary

North American Dental Group's Family Gentle Dentists in Woodhaven, MI is seeking a full-time Hygiene Assistant. You will support the hygienist and dentist, prep patients for treatment, and maintain a high standard of care and efficiency.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with potential Fridays, onsite in Woodhaven, MI, with a supportive team and opportunities for growth within NADG.

Qualifications

• Dental Assisting Certification or equivalent.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Radiography/X-Ray certification (state-specific).
• Current CPR certification.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional service and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the dental hygienist to prepare the room, seat patients, and document visits.
• Record and review patients' health history; make chart entries under supervision; ensure forms and signatures are completed.
• Educate patients on treatment plans and oral health maintenance.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with strong interpersonal skills with team and patients.
• Communicate professionally, both orally and in writing, with a service-oriented approach.

Your Work Schedule

Monday: 8:45am-5pm

Tuesday: 8:45am-5pm

Wednesday: 8:45am-5pm

Thursday: 8:45am-5pm

Potential Friday: 9:00am-3:00pm

Your Role as a Hygiene AssistantAs a Hygiene Assistant, you'll collaborate with our practice team to provide outstanding clinical support, ensuring patients receive the care they need. You'll prepare patients for treatment, assist the hygienist/dentist in restorative procedures, and maintain a high standard of care and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the dental hygienist to prepare the room, seat patients, and take proper documentation of the patients visit
• Ability to record and review patients' health history, make chart entries under the direction of the Doctor or hygienist, and assures completion of all necessary forms and signatures needed
• Educate patients on their treatment plans as well as maintaining their oral health
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment possessing excellent interpersonal skills such as establishing positive relationships with our team and patients
• Ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing with a service-oriented approach

What You’ll Need to Succeed
