Job summary

North American Dental Group, at Oakland Family Dentistry in West Bloomfield, MI, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support clinicians, prepare patients for treatment, and help maintain high standards of care and efficiency.

You will provide chair-side assistance, patient education, record management, and infection control while complying with OSHA/HIPAA and CPR requirements. Certification in dental assisting, radiography, and CPR is preferred, with new grads welcome.

Qualifications

• Dental Assisting Certification or equivalent on-the-job training.
• 1–5 years of experience preferred; new grads welcome.
• Radiography/X-Ray certification (state-specific).
• Current CPR certification.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Commitment to exceptional service and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional chair-side clinical support to dentists and hygienists, including charting, operatory setup/cleanup, and patient education.
• Record and review patient health histories, make chart entries under the dentist's direction, and ensure documentation is complete.
• Set up trays and instruments based on the daily schedule and procedure requirements.
• Prepare patients, sterilize/disinfect instruments, and maintain asepsis following OSHA standards.
• Assist with dental procedures, including exposing and developing diagnostic radiographs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and other certifications and safety requirements.

Monday: 7:45am-5pm

Tuesday: 7:45am-5pm

Wednesday: 7:45am-5pm

Thursday: 7:45am-5pm

Friday: 7:45am-1pm

Your Role as a Dental AssistantAs a Dental Assistant, you’ll collaborate with our practice team to provide outstanding clinical support, ensuring patients receive the care they need. You’ll prepare patients for treatment, assist the dentist in restorative procedures, and maintain a high standard of care and efficiency.
