Description

We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our team and assist our dental hygienists in providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for helping others.

Responsibilities

• Assist dental hygienists during dental procedures, including cleanings, fluoride treatments, and periodontal assessments
• Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring they are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies and equipment
• Perform coronal polishing and apply topical fluoride
• Take and record medical and dental histories, vital signs, and other relevant information
• Perform dental charting and assist with documentation of treatment plans
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and provide instructions for proper care at home
• Perform related duties involved in the care and maintenance of dental instruments, equipment, and supplies
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
• Maintain and update dental records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
• Collaborate with other members of the dental team to deliver high-quality patient care and achieve practice goals.
• Stay informed about advancements in dental technology, procedures, and regulations through continuing education and training.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and following HIPAA guidelines.
• Take and process x-rays.
• Placement of sealants.
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  
  

Requirements

• Current, unencumbered State of Kansas or National Certified or Registered Dental Assistant Credentials, preferred.
• CPR certification for Health Care Providers, required.
• Current vaccination record meeting ACIP Healthcare Workers Recommendations
