FamilyCare Health Centers is seeking a full-time Dental Patient Service staff member at our Patrick Street location in Charleston, WV. You will be part of the front office, greeting patients, registering and scheduling, while ensuring accuracy of data and smooth daily operations.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, HIPAA compliance, and collaboration with the Billing department to resolve patient charges. A supportive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent. Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise assignments to meet deadlines and follow protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provides great Customer Service by welcoming patients and maintaining a positive atmosphere in the reception area.
• Checks-in/out patients - Identifies visit type, updates demographics, scans ID, collects insurance information.
• Creates visits in the EHR and manages balances or payment plans with patients.
• Schedules and confirms appointments and communicates any preparation needed for the visit.
• Handles no-shows, cancellations/reschedules and optimises provider efficiency through scheduling.
• Coordinates patient referrals to specialists and tracks referrals.
• Assists in obtaining medical clearances and post‑op calls.
• Maintains front office flow and HIPAA compliance; supports Billing as needed.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in community health programs.
