Job summary

Goetze Dental, a family-owned company serving dental practices across the Midwest since 1884, seeks a mechanically talented Field Service Technician – Trainee in Des Moines, IA. You will train under a senior technician, install, repair, and maintain dental equipment, and gradually work solo with your own van.

The program emphasizes hands-on field work, with travel across Iowa, competitive pay during training, and full benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of mechanical, trade, or technical experience.
• Willingness to learn and be comfortable around technology.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Ride with a senior technician on every call during training, learning and assisting.
• Observe and assist with on-site installation, repair, and maintenance of dental equipment.
• Build diagnostic skills by working through real problems with a mentor.
• Assist with customer training on equipment use and care.
• Provide on-site support for our remote IT team when needed.
• Complete work orders and documentation accurately and on time.
• Attend manufacturer and company training to grow dental equipment expertise.
• Transition to independent territory and company van upon full competency.
