Job summary

Anne Arundel Community College seeks a Director of Dental Education to lead the DHY program, supervise the dental assisting program, and ensure CODA accreditation compliance. The role includes curriculum oversight, budget management, faculty recruitment, and HIPAA/FERPA compliance coordination.

The Director will also teach three faculty-load hours per semester and collaborate with the SHS division to promote preventative oral healthcare services on campus.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree and registered Dental Hygienist who graduated from a CODA-accredited program.
• Maryland license to practice dental hygiene and certification to administer local anesthesia.
• Minimum five years full-time experience including at least three years of clinical practice.
• Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience.
• Ability to meet CODA standards and maintain accreditation readiness.
• Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and outcomes assessment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee DHY program curriculum, including laboratory and clinical components.
• Provide administrator support to the DA program and lead faculty recruitment.
• Ensure CODA compliance and accreditation reporting, including annual reports and self-studies.
• Develop and manage program budget, admissions, and course coverage planning.
• Coordinate class schedules, syllabi, and learning outcomes across terms.
• Teach three faculty-load hours per semester as required.
