Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review and follow up on patient and insurance accounts receivable.
• Contact patients about outstanding balances and send statements.
• Work insurance aging reports and call insurers on unpaid claims.
• Submit and track insurance claims and pre-authorizations.
• Accurately apply CDT codes for dental and orthodontic procedures.
• Answer patient billing questions and handle front office phone calls
• Assist with posting payments (checks and EFTs) as needed.
• Set up and maintain patient payment plans.
• Review and resolve account discrepancies and credits.
• Communicate with Office Manager about account status and follow-up needs.
• Support front office with patient check-in and check-out when needed.

Location: Smile Island Pediatric and Adult Dental Group

Schedule: 4-5 days per week

Office Hours: M-Th 8:00am-5:00pm and Fri 7:00am- 3:30pm

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Dental Billing Specialist to support the financial operations of our practice. This role focuses on patient and insurance billing, account follow-up, and providing clear, professional communication to patients regarding their financial responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of CDT coding, dental insurance processes, and experience with both general dentistry and orthodontics. This position works closely with the Office Manager and front office team to help keep accounts current and operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and follow up on patient and insurance accounts receivable, including aging reports
• Contact patients regarding outstanding balances and send billing statements
