Job summary

Howard Brown Health is seeking a Dental Billing and Financial Services Specialist to manage the end-to-end billing lifecycle for the dental practice and ensure accurate coding and reimbursements. You will resolve claim edits, communicate with payors, and produce regular billing reports.

The role requires at least two years in healthcare billing, familiarity with MS Office and billing software, and a commitment to equity and inclusive care for LGBTQ+ patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years professional experience in healthcare billing.
• Knowledge of pre-authorization requirements and procedures.
• Ability to analyze denials and identify root causes.
• Proficient with MS Suite and billing software.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience serving LGBTQ+/HIV patients is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversees lifecycle billing processes for the dental practice business unit.
• Ensures accuracy of treatment codes and insurance details.
• Identifies and rectifies coding discrepancies to minimize errors in claim submissions.
• Reviews and clears edits for claim submission.
• Addresses edits or rejections encountered during claim submission.
• Resolves issues such as missing information or documentation to ensure smooth processing.
• Proactively follows up on denied claims to determine denial reasons.
• Communicates with insurance payors to clarify claim details or appeal denials.
• Implements corrective actions to optimize revenue and minimize losses.
• Monitors billing best practices for process improvement.
• Produces regular and ad hoc reports as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.
