Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; training in CDT coding, anatomy, physiology, and dental terminology.
• Experience with dental software, preferably Dentrix.
• Two years’ related experience coding and billing using dental software; accuracy.
• Knowledge of AHIMA/CMS guidelines and ability to apply to documentation.

Responsibilities

• Reviews dental records and assigns appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes.
• References coding manuals and applies sequencing guidelines for billing.
• Contacts dentists to clarify missing information and enters data into Dentrix.
• Reviews revenue reports and reconciles charges; resolves billing issues with patients.
