Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide instruction and assess student learning in Dental Materials (DAS102), a three-credit course combining asynchronous online lecture with an onsite laboratory component. The course introduces dental materials and techniques used in laboratory, restorative, and clinical applications, including gypsum, impression materials, waxes, cements, restorative materials, and thermoplastic resins. Digital dental workflow, including scanning and CEREC technologies, and safe materials handling are emphasized.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Provide asynchronous online instruction and onsite laboratory teaching using Moodle and appropriate educational technologies.
• Prepare and maintain course materials, demonstrations, assignments, and assessments aligned with course learning outcomes.
• Demonstrate and supervise safe manipulation and application of dental materials, including impressions, model pouring and trimming, bite registration, and restorative materials.
• Introduce and supervise digital scanning and CAD/CAM-related dental workflows appropriate to the course.

Additional Information:

COMPENSATION: Anticipated starting salary - Step I DCE Pay Scale (currently $3,024 for 2-credit course). Clinical/onsite laboratory content will be paid at hourly rate pursuant to the relevant contract. Part-time, non-benefited, MCCC Unit Position.
