Job description

Title: Dental Assisting Instructor

Department: Continuing Ed & Workforce Dev

Campus Location: Arnold/Main Campus

Salary Range: $38/hour

Work Mode: This position requires some regular in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations, depending on business needs of the office.

Hours Per Week: Flexible- days, evenings, weekends

Position Type: Adjunct Faculty

Position Summary

Part time adjunct position located in the new Health and Life Sciences Building (HLSB) on the Arnold campus. Instructor is responsible for classroom and lab instruction in the Dental Assisting field. The instructor is to follow the curriculum outline and learning expectations as provided. Content is housed in Canvas (online learning platform). Instructors must have some computer experience, expertise in the Dental Assisting field or higher and the ability to effectively manage a classroom. Prior teaching experience is not required. A desire to share your knowledge of the Dental field is a must! Instructors will be required to adhere to Anne Arundel Community College's Adjunct Faculty Instructional policies and procedures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare materials needed for instruction, labs, and supplies;
• Provide basic lab maintenance and track inventory of equipment and tools utilized;
• Relate instruction and material to course objectives;
• Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal/patient safety and infection control;
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with students, other faculty and staff;
• Submit grades, attendance, reports and records in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications:

Must be a licensed Dental Hygienist or Dental Assistant.
Minimum of 3 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching experience preferred.
