Salary Range: $38/hour

Work Mode: This position requires some regular in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations, depending on business needs.

Hours Per Week: Flexible - days, evenings, weekends

Position Type: Adjunct Faculty

Position Summary

Part-time adjunct position located in the new Health and Life Sciences Building (HLSB) on the Arnold campus. Instructor is responsible for classroom and lab instruction in the Dental Assisting field. The instructor must follow the curriculum outline and learning expectations as provided. Content is housed in Canvas (online learning platform). Instructors should have some computer experience, expertise in Dental Assisting or higher, and the ability to effectively manage a classroom. Prior teaching experience is not required. A desire to share your knowledge of the Dental field is essential. Instructors will adhere to Anne Arundel Community College’s Adjunct Faculty Instructional policies and procedures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional materials, labs, and supplies;
• Maintain lab equipment and track inventory;
• Relate instruction to course objectives;
• Discuss and demonstrate safety protocols, infection control, and workplace safety;
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff;
• Submit grades, attendance, and reports timely.

Required Qualifications

Must be a licensed Dental Hygienist or Dental Assistant.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience.
