Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• 1 year on-the-job-experience.
• X-Ray certification.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dental Assistants are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Assist dentists during procedures.
• Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions and study models.
• Maintain infection control protocols and patient confidentiality; follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation; support scheduling and intake as needed.
• Assist in emergencies with CPR readiness and emergency supplies.
