Job summary

Florida OMFS in Tampa, FL is seeking a dental assistant to join our team and support doctors while ensuring smooth patient flow in a busy practice.

The role emphasizes patient education, charting, X-ray processing, and maintaining a friendly, team-focused attitude. A Dental Assisting Certificate and Radiology license are preferred, bilingual ability is a plus, with health benefits and 401(k) offered.

Qualifications

Demonstrates a positive attitude even in challenging situations.
Education: High School diploma or GED; Dental Assisting Certificate and Radiology License preferred.
Experience: Experienced Dental Assistant; oral surgery experience is a plus.
Background check required; bilingual is a plus.
Physical requirements: mostly walking, talking, standing, updating information in computer systems.

Responsibilities

Provides chair-side clinical support and assists doctors, including charting, patient education, operatory setup and cleanup.
Manages patient flow, prioritizes next operating room, and updates doctors on patient status.
Welcomes patients in the reception area with a personal introduction and greeting.
Takes and processes X-rays; performs patient hand-offs.
Enters and updates patient treatment plans in the system as directed by the treating Doctor.
Ensures OSHA, HIPAA compliance and safety requirements are followed.
Identifies and reports maintenance needs for dental equipment and office systems.
