AltaMed Health Services Corp. is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists in delivering primary dental care at the clinic or mobile unit.

You will handle sterilization, preparation of instruments, and inventory control while ensuring strict infection control standards. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of dental assisting coursework, and relevant certifications; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act is required.
• Accredited course in dental assisting is preferred.
• Coronal Polishing Certification is preferred.
• X-Ray certification is required; infection control training is required.
• CA driver's license may be required for mobile units.
• DOJ/FBI background clearance within 30 days may be required for mobile units.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist(s) and dental hygienist(s) in providing primary dental care.
• Sterilize and prepare instruments; manage inventory.
• Maintain infection control standards across patient care areas.

Job Overview

The Dental Assistant position is responsible for assisting the dentist(s) and the dental hygienist(s) in providing primary care dental services to patients at the clinic or in the mobile oral health unit as well as for sterilization, preparation and inventory control of dental instruments supplies, and for proper infection control of all areas involving patient care.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or GED certificate required.
• Successful completion of a board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act.
• Completion of an accredited course in dental assisting is preferred.
• Coronal Polishing Certification, Completion of an accredited course in dental assisting, Successful completion of a board-approved course in X-Ray, infection control required A valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
• Valid CA Driver's License, if assigned to Mobile Units, required
• Successful completion of background DOJ/FBI clearance within 30 days of hire, if assigned to Mobile Units, is required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Compensation

Compensation $25.00 - $25.00 hourly Compensation Disclaimer Actual salary offers are considered by various factors, including budget, experience, skills, education, licensure and certificates, and other business considerations. The range is subject to change.
