Job summary

Heartland Dental, the nation’s largest dental support organization, seeks a part-time Dental Assistant for Wednesday and Thursday shifts (7:30am–5:00pm). The role offers a pay range of $25–$30 per hour based on experience and requires x‑ray certification.

You’ll support exam and treatment delivery using Dentrix, take X-rays and coordinates patient education while maintaining safety protocols and HIPAA standards in a fast-paced office.

Qualifications

• Must be x-ray certified and, if required by state act, dental assistant certification
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric dental setting
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• HIPAA training and PHI protection awareness
• Preferred: 1+ year dental experience; Dentrix experience; dental assisting school certification

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and support comfort and education throughout treatment
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography)
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists per state practice act
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and records; maintain treatment rooms with safety protocols
• Manage supplies and inventory; place and expedite orders as needed
• Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and optimize workflow
