Pearl Dental Studio in Smithtown, NY is seeking a Part-Time Dental Assistant to support dentists with four-handed chairside care in a patient-centered clinic. The role uses Dentrix Ascend EMR, X-ray and 3D scanners to document cases and manage imaging.

You will greet patients, assist in procedures, ensure asepsis, and help with scheduling and basic marketing activities. Training and growth opportunities are available within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• License & Certification: X-ray / Radiography Certification, Infection Control License
• Proven background as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with sterilization expertise
• Proficiency with Dentrix Ascend EMR and dental equipment including X-ray and 3D scanners
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, four-handed dentistry, and aseptic technique
• HIPAA compliance and infection prevention guidelines

Responsibilities

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift

Part-time schedule supporting clinical operations. Office hours are Monday 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, Tuesday 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, and Thursday 10:00 AM–7:00 PM.

Requirements

• License & Certification: X-ray / Radiography Certification, Infection Control License

Experience: Proven background as a Dental Assistant in a clinical dental environment with expertise in sterilization procedures and infection control.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic medical records systems (Dentrix Ascend EMR) and operation of dental equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners.

Clinical Knowledge: Solid grasp of dental terminology, clinical procedures, relevant oral anatomy, and four-handed dentistry techniques.

Compliance: Strong knowledge of healthcare infection prevention guidelines, HIPAA compliance, and aseptic technique standards.

Communication: Outstanding verbal skills for patient education and compassionate interaction, including pediatric settings.

Preferences

• License & Certification: Registered dental assistant / Certified dental assistant

Certifications: Formal Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent credentials, alongside additional certifications in radiography or infection control.
