Job summary

The Smilist Dental in Middle Island, NY seeks a reliable Dental Assistant to join our growing practice. You will assist dentists, prepare trays, maintain sterile environments, and escort patients as needed. This part-time role offers hands-on patient care and opportunities for professional growth in a welcoming team.

Experience as a Dental Assistant and knowledge of dental instruments is preferred; Dentrix experience is a plus. Competitive pay of $20–$25 per hour and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures.
• Prior Dentrix experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Attention to detail and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while addressing concerns and praising the doctor.
• Maintain a clean, sterile environment and assist doctors to enable efficient care.
• Escort patients to and from the front desk.
• Prepare tray setups and manage supplies in each operatory, ordering as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while attending their individual concerns and promoting the good qualities of their doctor
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patient feels comfortable; prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors - thereby enabling them to provide efficient quality dental treatment
• Escort patients to and from the front desk
• Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, ordering and replenishing as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant preferred
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures
