Job summary

The Smilist Dental in Brick, NJ is seeking an Oral Surgery Assistant to join our caring, professional practice. You will support surgeons, maintain a sterile environment, prep patients, and escort them to the front desk.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of dental assisting experience, an active NJ X-ray license, and BLS/ACLS certification. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year proven dental assistant experience.
• Must hold active NJ X-ray license.
• BLS or ACLS certification required.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment and procedures.
• Prior Dentrix experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while addressing concerns and promoting doctor expertise.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment; prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors for efficient care.
• Escort patients to and from the front desk.
• Prepare tray setups for procedures and maintain supply levels in each operatory; order/replenish as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while attending their individual concerns and promoting the good qualities of their doctor
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patient feels comfortable; prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors - thereby enabling them to provide efficient quality dental treatment
• Escort patients to and from the front desk
• Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, ordering and replenishing as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant - at least 1 year
• Prior OS experience
• Must have an active NJ x-ray license
• BLS or ACLS certification required
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures
• Prior Dentrix experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Attention to detail and a positive attitude

Position Details:

• Schedule:Full Time - Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays
• Salary Range:$26.00-$30.00/hour
• Location:Brick, NJ
