Job summary

Pediatric Dental Care in Springfield, Virginia is seeking a Part-time Dental Assistant to support our clinical team by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and assisting dentists during procedures. You will help provide high-quality patient care in a team-based environment and contribute to our mission of creating more smiles.

Candidates must complete a one-year accredited dental assistant program and hold X-ray certification; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• X-Ray certification - Required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dental Assistants are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Assist dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency directory.
