Job summary

Dental Depot of Independence PLLC is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant in Independence, MO. You will support the dentist, prepare patients and instruments, and help manage patient records and imaging throughout treatment.

Required: completion of dental assisting program or 1+ year experience, active dental assisting permit, CPR, X-ray certification, and HIPAA/infection control knowledge. Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of Dental Assisting Program or minimum one year experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Current Dental Assisting Permit Required. Current CPR Certification Required. X-Ray Certification is required to serve chairside.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of valid vehicle insurance and annual MVR check if employee operates company vehicles.
• HIPAA understanding and infection control knowledge.
• Knowledge of CDT codes and dental procedures listed in job description.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient, sterilize or disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, or assist Dentist during dental procedures.
• Record treatment information in patient records; chart in Eaglesoft.
• Expose dental diagnostic X-rays and manage x-ray sensor care.
• Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs.
• Assist Dentist in management of medical or dental emergencies.
• Provide postoperative instructions to patients and proper handoffs to other departments.
• Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
• Fabricate temporary restorations or impressions for study casts and mounting.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
