Job summary

SEARHC is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists and the clinic operations across multiple sites in Southeast Alaska. You will assist chair-side, prepare operatories, and help with radiographs and tray setups as part of a collaborative dental team.

You will ensure infection control standards, participate in pediatric and orthodontic care preparation, and occasional travel to partner clinics as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate of Dental Assistant Training or 6 months of Dental Assistant experience.
• Completion of Dental Assistant 1 Competency form or 6 months of experience and completion within 6 months.
• Completion of Sterilization Course or 6 months of experience and completion within 6 months.
• BLS certification within 90 days of start; clinical competency within 3 months and then every 3 years; high-risk competency annually.

Responsibilities

• Greets, seats and prepares patients in the appropriate treatment operatory.
• Assists at chair-side using 4-handed techniques and prepares operatory equipment.
• Maintains clean, organized operatories, labs, sterilization areas and tray setups.
• Travels with providers to cover other clinics as needed.
• Supports pediatric and orthodontic clinics with setup, radiographs, and patient communication.
