Job summary

SEARHC seeks a Dental Assistant to support dentists and the dental team, prepare treatment operatories, and assist with various dental clinics. The role involves chair-side assistance, instrument setup, radiographs, and maintaining sterilization standards.

The position emphasizes patient education, coordination of appointment types, and ensuring smooth clinic operations across general, pediatric, and orthodontic services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dental Assistant Training certification required.
• Dental Assistant 1 Competency form completed.
• Sterilization Course completed.
• Indian Health Service Radiology Certificate or equivalent.
• BLS required within 90 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Greets, seats and prepares patient in appropriate treatment operatory and sets up operatories.
• Assists at chair-side using four-handed techniques and maintains sterilization areas.
• Travels with providers to provide coverage at other clinics.
• Maintain Dental Electronic Health Record basics (charting, scheduling, medical alerts).
• Setup for pediatric, orthodontic, and general dental appointments as needed.
