Job summary

Smile Center of Round Lake is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join a patient-focused team. The role supports dentists during procedures, handles instrument sterilization, imaging, and chart updates while promoting comfort and informed care for every patient.

Qualified candidates may have 1+ year of experience and a dental assisting certificate; CPR certification is a plus. Strong communication and commitment to quality care are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of dental assisting experience preferred.
• Dental assisting certificate from an accredited vocational school preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of preventive and restorative dental procedures.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including surgeries, fillings, cleanings, and other treatments.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment before, during, and after patient treatment.
• Take digital X-rays, panoramic images, CBCT scans, and intraoral photos.
• Prepare materials for dental procedures (e.g., fillings, impressions, crowns).
• Provide chairside assistance, ensuring patients are comfortable and informed.
• Record and update patient medical histories and treatment plans in the dental software.
• Manage dental instruments and tools, passing them to the dentist as needed during procedures.
• Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene.
