Job summary

Shamblott Family Dentistry in Saint Paul, MN seeks a skilled Dental Assistant to support the clinical team, prep rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.

Applicants must hold a Licensed Dental Assistant license and X-Ray certification; Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. This is a full-time position with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• One or more on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation).
• Licensed Dental Assistant license is REQUIRED.
• X-Ray certification is REQUIRED.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Education
