Job summary

Smile Starters Dental in Raleigh, NC is seeking a qualified Dental Assistant II to join our pediatric-focused practice. You will greet families, assist chairside with 4-handed dentistry, and prepare instruments and materials for procedures, while maintaining sterilization standards and patient records.

The role requires graduation from an accredited dental assistant program, CPR certification, and coronal polishing certification; nitrous oxide certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited dental assistant program.
• CPR Certification required.
• Coronal Polishing Certification is required; Nitrous Oxide Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families to the office with professionalism and warmth.
• Conduct pre- and post-operative patient consultations.
• Prepare patients for treatments or checkups, ensuring comfort.
• Select, prepare, and arrange instruments, equipment, and materials for procedures.
• Sterilize instruments according to regulatory standards.
• Assist the dentist chairside using 4-handed dentistry.
• Perform lab-related tasks as instructed.
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
• Maintain a clean, organized operatory and schedule appointments.
